The Clouds...
The clouds pass by my awakened vision...
I feel the pressure of appreciation from within...
I cannot expand my lungs further, and I begin to ache.
I exhale, the river of life flowing outward upon a sigh.
The breeze caresses my face,
and I inhale it’s newborn scents,
left upon my palette.
Perhaps... the spring lilies in bloom,
or maybe... just the rain that quenched the night.

God's Promise
God didn't promise
Days without pain,
Laughter without sorrow
Or sun without rain.
But God did promise
Strength for the day,
Comfort for the tears
And a light for the way.
And for all who believe
In His kingdom above,
He answers their faith
With everlasting love.

Letter from Heaven
To my dearest family ... There's some things I'd like to say,
But first of all, to let you know That I have arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above,
Where there's no more tears of sadness ...
There is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy Just because I'm out of sight;
Remember that I am with you Every morning, noon and night.
The day I had to leave you When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me And said, "I welcome you!"
"It's good to have you back again, You were missed while you were gone;
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on."
"I need you here badly, As you're part of my plan;
There's so much that we have to do, To help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things That he wished for me to do;
And foremost on the list Was to watch and care for you.
When you lie in bed at night, With the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you ... In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth And all those loving years,
Because you are only human, They are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry, It does help to relieve pain;
Remember there would be no flowers Unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you All that God has planned;
But if I were to tell you, You really wouldn't understand.
There is one thing is for certain, Although my life on earth is o'er,
I'm closer to you now, Than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you And many hills to climb;
But together we can do it By just taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy And I'd like it be for you too,
That as you give unto the world, The world will give back to you.
If you can ever help somebody Who's in sorrow and pain,
Then you can say to God at night ... "My day was not in vain."
For now I am contented, That my life was worthwhile;
Knowing as I passed along the way, I was able to make somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody Who is sad and feeling low ...
Just lend a hand to pick him up, As on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street And you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps Only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go From that body to be free,
Remember that you're not going ... You're coming here to me.

The Beatitudes
Blessed are the poor in spirit:
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn:
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek:
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:
For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful:
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart:
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers:
For they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my name sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad:
For great is your reward in heaven:
For so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
King James Bible - Matthew 5:3-12
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in tighter
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or two
to stop and say love you,
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more
so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.
There will always be another day
to say our," I love you's,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our " Anything I can do's?"
But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.
So always hold them dear.
Take time to say I'm sorry,
Please forgive me, Thank you, or It's okay.
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.
